Who We Are

This website is operated by Thompson's Station Hardware, a locally-owned Do it Best member store located at 1900 Lewisburg Pike, Franklin, Tennessee. You can reach us by email at hello@thompsonsstationhardware.com.

Information We Collect

We keep things simple. This website does not offer online shopping, account creation, or payment processing, and we never ask for payment details.

The one place we do collect personal information is our employment application. If you apply for a job with us, we collect what you enter on that form — see Employment Applications below. If you do not apply for a job, we do not ask for or store your name, address, or contact details.

Like most websites, however, our site does automatically collect some basic information through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. This may include:

• Your IP address (often truncated for privacy)
• Device and browser type
• Pages you view on our site and how long you spend on each
• How you arrived at our site (for example, from a search engine or social media link)
• Approximate geographic location (city or region level)

If you choose to email us at the address above, we receive your email address and any information you share in your message. We use that information only to respond to you.

How We Use This Information

We use the information collected to:

• Understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it
• Measure the effectiveness of our marketing and construction updates
• Respond to messages you send us
• Keep the site secure and working properly

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Employment Applications

If you apply for a job through our online application, or email us a completed printable application, we collect the information you provide on that form. That includes your name, home address, phone number, email address, work eligibility answers, education history, previous employment history, military service if you choose to share it, and your resume if you attach one.

Please do not send us your Social Security number or driver's license number. We do not ask for either on the application, and we only collect them in person after a job offer is made.

Applications are submitted to a form handler we operate using Google Workspace. Submitted information is stored in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, and any resume you attach is stored in Google Drive, both in a private company account accessible only to the people involved in hiring. We are the employer of record for these purposes; Thompson's Station Hardware operates as part of KJB Security Products, Inc.

We use application information only to evaluate you for employment, to contact you about your application, and to meet our recordkeeping obligations. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for marketing.

Federal law requires employers to keep employment applications for at least one year. We retain applications for at least that long, and may keep them longer to consider you for future openings. If you would like your application deleted, email hello@thompsonsstationhardware.com and we will remove it once any legal retention period has passed.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device. Our site uses cookies set by Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to recognize returning visitors and measure site usage. These are analytics cookies — they do not identify you personally.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies at any time. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your visits from being included in Google Analytics reports.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Tennessee Information Protection Act, or similar state laws. These may include:

• The right to know what personal information we have about you
• The right to request deletion of your personal information
• The right to opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
• The right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights

Children's Privacy

Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

Data Retention & Security

Google Analytics data is retained according to the settings configured in our Google account, typically for up to 14 months. Email correspondence is retained for as long as is reasonably needed to answer your questions and support our business. Employment applications are retained as described under Employment Applications above.

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we collect, but no website or internet transmission is completely secure. We encourage you to use good security practices when browsing any site.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time as our business and this website evolve. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
