Assistant Manager
Second in command. You'll run the store shoulder-to-shoulder with the Store Manager — and run it on your own when they're off.
What you'll do
- Open and close the store and lead the day-to-day operation of every department
- Build schedules, train new hires, and coach the team on customer service
- Oversee receiving, cycle counts, ordering, and stock levels
- Hold the line on merchandising, signage, and store cleanliness
- Own customer questions and complaints and resolve them on the spot
- Work with the Store Manager on sales goals, margin, shrink, and payroll
A good fit if: you have three or more years in retail with at least one supervising a team, you're comfortable on a POS and in a spreadsheet, and you'd rather be on the floor than in an office. Knowledge of tools, paint, plumbing, or building materials is a real plus.
